Job Title:       Development Associate (Foundations) 

Reports To:  Kevin Faria 

Location:       Washington, DC or Remote 

Salary:            $55,000 - $75,000, depending on experience. Benefits include 4 weeks annual vacation, paid healthcare (100%), 8% annual 403(b) contribution, and more. 

 

The Development Associate is responsible for helping ensure that NCRP is meticulous in its approach to fundraising (primarily from foundations), and delivers on quality to both internal and external stakeholders.  


This position will serve as the main staff support for the Senior Director of Foundation Engagement. You’ll engage in creating materials, tracking, planning, reporting, communications, and stewardship for our foundation/grantmaker donor base, partners and prospects. NCRP is growing into an organization with a $4 million+ annual budget, and most of that income is provided by 140+ foundations.

Responsibilities include (95%): 


  • Assist with (and in some cases develop) high-quality written materials, including (but not limited to) grant proposals, applications, reports, letters, and budgets; and manage donor acknowledgements such as thank you letters; 

 

  • Track fundraising workflow such as proposal due dates, reports, etc., and maintain records on existing and future supporters  (primarily via our Salesforce database); 

 

  • Assist with and conduct fundraising outreach via e-mail, phone, and other methods as needed; 

 

  • Work with other NCRP staff as needed (such as programs, IT, and communications teams) to meet fundraising goals; 

 

  • Organize internal/external fundraising meetings as needed, and assist other staff working on fundraising as needed;  

 

  • Other appropriate duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Director of Foundation Engagement to help the organization meet its fundraising goals. 

 

Contribute to NCRP’s organizational success by keeping up with all required administrative tasks. (5%) 

 

  • Complete and submit timesheets and any other necessary administrative documents in a timely fashion. 
  • Update Bamboo HR with requests for vacation leave, sick leave or other needed time off.    
  • Attend monthly staff meetings. 
  • Attend any necessary All Staff or Department trainings. 

 

Requirements:  2-5 years of fundraising experience preferred. Position title (Associate vs. Senior Associate) dependent on experience. Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM databases preferred but not required. Knowledge of philanthropy a plus. Salary commensurate with experience.
